For those considering transferring into our elementary school

Academic level at time of enrollment

Sakura International School is Japanese-English bilingual schools with an accredited IB PYP. When students begin elementary school, they begin inquiry-based learning in both Japanese and English. This involves reading books, summarizing what they have learned, and sharing their opinions in both languages. Ideally, students transferring into the school should have age-appropriate proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Parents and guardians must also have an understanding of the goals and philosophy of the IB (International Baccalaureate).

The entrance exam includes a mathematics exam in both Japanese and English, an exam to determine student language proficiency levels and an interview in both Japanese and English. Also, we will also request a report card and a letter of recommendation from your current school or kindergarten.
